Why Pay OSMD a Service Fee?
Physicians who are affiliated with Open Source M.D. pay a fee for the client services we provide for their convenience. This fee is strategically structured to be tax-deductible for our physicians. We have designed our revenue system with a fair market value concept, allowing our physicians to write off this fee as an expense on their taxes. This approach ensures that our physicians can benefit from both the stability and longevity of being part of our professional practice while also enjoying the flexibility and financial advantages of working as independent contractors.
In typical physician staffing relationships between hospitals and medical staffing agencies, the third-party company takes a portion of the physician’s compensation for themselves. Open Source M.D. follows a different philosophy. Instead of charging a fee to hospitals, we request that they offer longevity in contracts to our physicians, staff the service appropriately, and provide fair wages. We prioritize the well-being and interests of our physicians while maintaining a mutually beneficial relationship with the hospitals we work with.
